Several months ago, a close friend of mine came across this very old suitcase while on an antiquing adventure around the Washington state area. It wasn’t until she brought it home that she noticed a cue card inside that came with it.
The suitcase together with Ms Bertha Silva traveled by boat in 1929-1930 through Mexico, Argentina, Chili, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Panama and Bolivia.
What an amazing adventure that must have been! It makes me wonder what happened to Bartha and how the suitcase ended up in Washington state.
