This past Sunday Naomi and I went to the Cloverdale Flea Market to see what vintage finds awaited us. It’s one of our favorite places to browse for knick knacks on a Sunday in Vancouver. If the weather is good, the crowds will be large and the vendors plentiful.
It costs $1 to get in and as we strolled through the flea market, I noticed a bright pink monkey sitting on a large round silver object. It was a 1920’s Elkhart Sousaphone.
My mom collects vintage brass instruments to use as accent pieces for her music room (we’ll do a future post on her brass instrument collection soon). I thought it would make an excellent addition to her collection, so I made an offer and walked away with the ridiculous sized horn.
Aside from the horn purchase we didn’t really see anything else that caught our eye. Hopefully the weather in Vancouver will hold up so we can visit the flea market again!
