Portland Letterpress Printers’ Fair

If you’re in Portland or find yourself in the area this weekend, check out the Letterpress Printers’ Fair happening this Saturday, August 8 from 11am to 4pm at Liberty Hall – 311 N. Ivy.

This event features demos, printshops, suppliers, resources type, equipment, cards, broadsides, ephemera overstocks, seconds, deals, rarities and more!

Letterpress wine labels by Hatch Show Print

A few weeks ago, I stopped by a liquor store to pick up some booze and stumbled across some 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Hatch Show Print Wine! I’ve always wanted to visit the legendary print shop in Nashville Tennessee and so I had to pick up a bottle.

Letterpress with a touch of love: Prints by Hijirik

I love the look of letterpress.

There’s something about the smell of inks and the way the paper feels as you run your fingers over the slightly indented text that makes me sad to think it’s a dying art form that may one day disappear. While browsing Etsy the other day, I came across a lovely letterpress shop run by the sweetest girl, Hijirik, who also owns Hijirik Design Studio.
