Apologies for taking so long to post, but we’ve been busy experiencing all that the city is offering right now for the Olympics. Today is the last day and after a great Canada vs. USA gold medal hockey game (I almost passed out from excitement a few times) and braving the streets of downtown to give hugs and high fives to random strangers, it’s time to finally take a breath.

Olympic madnessPosted by: naomi @ 2:56 pm in events, miscellaneous |
The city has been turned on its head and shaken vigorously. It’s the first day of the Olympics and you can definitely sense the buzz in the air. The opening ceremonies are tonight and everywhere you look, people are dressed in red and white, with the odd sprinkling of other country colors. I feel very fortunate to be living in the host city right now and experiencing the excitement as it’s happening.

Ni hao (Hello) from Asia!Posted by: ryan @ 7:46 pm in miscellaneous, travel |
(I’ll be posting on behalf of Naomi today!) It’s been a week since I left rainy Vancouver with 3 of my girlfriends for Asia and it seems like I brought the rain with me. The first stop was Shanghai and the city didn’t really feel like I was in Asia – probably because of the high number of expats we encountered and the very modern/expensive feel of the city.
