Hauling 2000 78rpm records back homePosted by: ryan @ 12:46 am in records & music, vintage finds |
Have you ever come across a moment in life where you’ve asked yourself, “What am I getting myself into?” One of those moments for me was last fall when I hauled back home over 1000lbs of 78rpm records.

1940’s CCM Rambler: My new summer bikePosted by: ryan @ 8:22 pm in moving things, vintage finds |
A few weeks ago I mentioned a bike in my post about vintage theater seats. Well, here is that bike. After tracing the serial number, I discovered that it is a 1941 CCM Rambler and is similar to the one currently on display in the Canadian Science & Technology Museum in Ottawa. It needs some work, but I’m looking forward to getting it rolling this summer.

Blast from the past – Museum of VancouverPosted by: naomi @ 1:07 pm in reviews, vintage finds |
What is the Museum of Vancouver? The Museum of Vancouver creates Vancouver-focused exhibitions and programs which encourage dynamic conversations about what was, is and can be Vancouver – basically it’s an awesome walk down memory lane with realistic displays of what life was like during different decades over the past 100 years.

This week’s Big Band tune comes from 1931 by American composer/film producer Arthur Schwartz. The particular recording I have is played by Artie Shaw and his orchestra which earned him one of his eight gold records during the 1930s and 1940s. Continue reading »

Antique hunting in Langley BCPosted by: ryan @ 11:11 am in featured shops, vintage finds |
A month ago when the sun was still out in Vancouver, we decided to stop by Langley, the birthplace of British Columbia. The township is located near the historic Fort Langley, a fur trading post used during the 1800s by the Hudsons Bay Company.
